Hello and Welcome to Emmas Yoga Hut!

Updated: Sep 3, 2021

My name is Emma, and I am a yoga student and yoga teacher based in Earley. I am thrilled to be here and offering the lovely people of Earley and its surrounds a new and special place to practice yoga!

Emma’s Yoga Hut is a mini garden based yoga studio where I will be offering 1:1 tuition, bubble classes and general classes with no more than 3 people in. This means that I can offer really bespoke yoga to meet the needs of the individuals in the classes. I am running a Yoga Virgins class for absolute beginners, a general class for those who have practiced yoga before, and a lunchbreak session for people working at home! Check them out in my classes section on the website! All classes need to be booked in advance because of the bijou nature of the yoga hut.

I am a yoga student of 25 years and a fully qualified yoga teacher and I am delighted to be able to offer the many and beautiful benefits of yoga to you all. As an instructor I am here to guide you gently into your yoga practice, encouraging you to step into your practice with increasing awareness and depth as we go. The classes will typically have a few minutes of grounding upon arrival to let you drop into being at yoga and step out of the chaos of everyday life, then we will move through asana (yoga poses) and some vinyasa (sequences of yoga poses), these will be themed around key points linked to the seasons or physiology or using yoga philosophy that can support us in our everyday life. At the end there will be a peaceful guided meditation to allow you to hopefully float happily out of the yoga hut on a fluffy cloud of relaxing good vibes!

The lunchtime classes will be a little different, focussing on undoing the physiological impact of being sat down all day, calming and clearing the mind and, and at the end of the class a breathing exercise to balance or energise rather than a guided meditation, because if you are be going back to work you probably need to be more switched on than blissed out!

Obviously, we are living in some pretty weird times over the last year or two, so rest assured Emma’s Yoga Hut is well ventilated as well as being fully heated and air conditioned. It is cleaned thoroughly between classes. Some rather nice lavender hand sanitiser is available upon arrival and leaving and I will be running test and trace, so if the worst does happen we can all know and react as quickly as possible to help keep people around us safe.

There are yoga mats to borrow if you do not have your own, these will be cleaned thoroughly between uses and then quarantined for 7 days before their next use. Because the classes are very small you are in contact with way fewer people than you usually would be in other forms of exercise class. Part of the reason I am not offering drop in classes right now is to ensure that we are all exposed to fewer people, so it’s the same 3 people you see each week for your lessons during a 6 week block. I, obviously, lateral flow test regularly.

In this vein, this is also why I will also be offering Bubble Yoga and 1:1 classes. These are sessions you can come to with family or friends who you are seeing anyway, these classes can be for up to 3 people. Everyone’s situation is different and whereas some people are happy to return to all things pre 2020 others have very good reasons why its not right for them right now. If you are interested in bubble yoga or 1:1 sessions please contact me directly (hit the “contact me” button for details!)

I cannot wait to welcome you onto the mat at Emma's Yoga Hut, any queries, just drop me a line!

In peace,

Emma x

(Emma runs Emma’s Yoga Hut in Earley. A tiny garden studio for small group and 1:1 yoga tuition. She is a yoga student and yoga teacher and has practiced yoga for 25 years. She trained with the Traditional Yoga Association right here in Reading between 2016 and 2018 to achieve her 500 hour yoga teaching accreditation. She has additional teaching qualifications in Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra which she subsequently undertook online during the great lockdown of 2020. Emma tries her best to practice yoga every day, often with the family cats Rhubarb and Custard (who is starring in the above picture!) for company on the mat!)
